Bee Busy Chatelaine - sold

Busy as a beehive our fingers shall be. I have made another bee themed chatelaine. It hangs around your neck like a necklace with your common embroidery tools on hand, ready to use.

The gold chain necklace is wrapped around your neck and the lobster claw can hook onto the chain at the length you desire. The chatelaine includes a flower scissor fob with a pair of gold toned fold up scissors. Next is a thin needlebook. It opens and there are two wool felt pages to store your needles. Next is a thread waxer in the shape of the flower. Run your silk thread across the wax to make it easier to sew with. At the bottom hangs a beehive and inside you can store a small thimble. It is both decorative and useful with antique style painting, sampler pictures and brass bees. Materials include porcelain clay, wool felt, wax, brass, metal, ribbon, paper, elastic.

Blue Doll Chatelaine - sold

Comments from customer (name removed to protect privacy): "Just wanted to let you know the Chatelaine arrived in the post today intact.  You did a nice job packing it.  It is so very beautiful - thank you so much for your continued excellent customer service."

A delicate folk art portrait of a girl and her blue doll form the centre piece for this needlework chatelaine.

The folk art pendant is also a needle rest. Lay your needle across the magnetised surface so your hands are free to cut more thread. The cylinder case has a lid which pops off and inside you can store your needles. There are five pearl thread rings and also a pair of gold toned folding scissors with it's own weighted scissor fob. The gold toned necklace hangs to mid torso, but the links are big enough for you to wear it shorter if you like. The pieces are embellished with ribbon and a lovely old antique sampler. Each piece of the chatelaine is useable as well as beautiful to wear. Materials include porcelain clay, felt, mother-of-pearl, metal, ribbon.

Industry Chatelaine - sold

Busy as a beehive our fingers shall be. Idleness was the sin of the Victorians and the bee was seen as a positive symbol of work and usefulness. I have designed and made this sewing tool with the bee in mind. It is a chatelaine. It hangs around your neck like a necklace with your common embroidery tools on hand, ready to use.

The chain necklace can be worn at three different lengths. At the top is a scissor fob with a pair of gold toned foldup scissors attached. Materials include porcelain clay, wool felt, wax, brass, metal, ribbon.

My Heart Needlework Tool Set - sold

I have tried to capture in this needlework tool set the beauty of 18th Century tent stitch pictures. I simply love the colours of these pictures, the out of proportion motifs and the stripes on the women’s' dresses. The tool set comprises of a heart shaped needlebook. The needlebook has a couple on the front and it opens up to reveal wool felt page for holding needles. Little brass hinges hold the panels together. It can fit in the palm of your hand. I have also created a scissor fob to compliment the needlebook. The fob has a small silk pouch which you can use to store a thimble or orts maybe. At the moment there it holds a coin so it is weighted. Little blue handmade hearts and beads embellish the fob and it attached is a pair of stunning blue scissors with a lobster claw. The scissors are included.
